Classless talent trees
Classless talent trees in TTRPGs offer unmatched flexibility
Instead of rigid classes filled with filler levels GnG uses talent trees. You can pick and choose which abilities you want and when.
No Classes
We don’t limit your progression down one path or another, instead of giving out pack of abilities we have them laid out for you to pick and choose from. You can still play that archetypal rogue or paladin, but now you aren’t forced into sneak attack and smite (Even if you do still pick them)
Structure not limitations
Our talent trees allow for the abilities to be structured in a logical way without sacrificing flexibility. This means you can still easily find cool builds but you can also customise the builds in incredibly unique ways.
Endless Progression
Without classes there is no need for a “Maximum level” and so you can continue to level up and gain new abilities endlessly.
Goals not XP
Instead of levelling up by gaining XP from killing things, a very video game style of play, we have incorporated roleplay into the very concept of levels. You and your party will have goals set by yourselves and the GM. When completing these goals you can gain rewards including, but not limited to, level-ups.
Natural Progression
Because you get to pick your abilities every level this means you can include things relevant to the roleplaying experiences that you have had since your last level, and you don’t have to go fully in. Maybe your character has toyed with a new martial technique but you don’t want to go full fighter, well now you don’t.
No “Dud” Levels
The limited class progression system is often filled with “filler” abilities to bridge the gap between the lower levels and the higher levels. If you want that cool ability you might have to go through 10-15 levels of stuff you don’t want to get it. This also means some classes can end up feeling undefined or random abilities that don’t match the rest can be put in just to fill the space.
Easy Homebrew
You don’t have to make a whole class anymore.
In class based systems if you want a cool new build you have to make a whole new class each time, but now with this talent tree system you can just make the abilities that you want and attach them where they fit.
However this doesn’t stop you from making completely new trees yourself if you want to go even more in-depth.
Beginner Classes
Don’t worry newbies, we have classes for you. Our beginner classes are simple and well structured for people who want to learn the system but don’t want to delve fully into the talent tree system yet.
They also function as NPC builders for GMs who want a quick and easy way to make a cool character without having to put in too much thought or preparation.
