What makes G&G Different?
Since the 70s TTRPGs have evolved and branched out into many different directions, and with so many others out there, why pick GnG?
With GnGs classless skill-tree based approach you and your table can customise which elements of the rules you want to delve into and which ones you’d rather leave at the door. Whether that is combat, crafting artifacts, building strongholds, maintaining reputation, or exploring the untamed wilderness.
We have a simple philosophy, it’s much easier to ignore a rule than to create a brand new one, so we made sure ever element of the system is modular. Built in a way to allow your table to cut it out without crumbling everything else.
Design Principles
When creating GnG we made every element with a foundation of design principles to ensure that they worked together in a cohesive harmony. The core principles are;
Formulaic: We made every element with formulas to not only ensure balance, but also so that we could show those formulas to you and allow you to make your own content with them.
Risk-Reward: No playstyle is free from risk, the greater the bonus the greater the potential drawback.
Narrative-first-mechanics: Every mechanic was created around the thought of “How could the narrative effect this area of gameplay?” meaning that we moved away from commonly gamafied mechanics (such as xp-based levelling) and towards narratively-integrated mechanics.
