GnG is a fantasy based TTRPG like many others, most notably is DnD (and Pathfinder). What differentiates GnG from other systems in the same genre is the focus on “High-risk, high-reward” gameplay loops. GnG balances the feeling of having immense power with the fear of losing it all, ensuring you don’t feel meek and pathetic without making you into a medieval superhero.
GnG also departs from many traditions still found in other TTRPG systems such as classes, instead allowing characters to grow in a much more personal way through a web of interlocking talents.
